jammingwith: (well THAT'S where it started to get craz)

[Edward's on the second level, having been... er... investigating. Basically, she's been poking around to see if there's any data hanging around the second level about the kidnappings. However, as of right now, all she can find is that the people have been taken. That's it. She doesn't know where, she doesn't know why, she just knows they're gone.

...but in her searching, she has found something else...

She's a little agitated. She had considered just going on by herself but then she thought, rather generously for her, that maybe other people would want to know.]

There's a door open.

It wasn't open before, but it's open now.

There's something blocking the door, but Ed thinks she can get past it.

Ed's going to go see what's behind it.

It might have something to do with... the people. Who are gone. Taken. [She looks very angry for a split second, but it passes quickly, almost unnoticeable.]

...

Does anyone want to come?

((OOC: So yeah, Edward's going to lead a raid on the court records building. Edward's got her own way through the barrier blocking the door, so if your character doesn't have a way through, or you just want to tag along with Ed, feel free to volunteer. I'll probably get a log going sometime this weekend maybe. We can plot in IM, or I can make an OOC post as well.

...er, but the group probably shouldn't be very big. No more than six total, I think.))

Oh good!

[identity profile] notthatkennedy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
So I take it that this is one of the 'weird events' that the others warned me about?

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
...sort of. Not really.

The weird stuff is usually more like people singing without meaning to or putting on costumes and becoming the person the costume makes you.

This is different.

But it might be the city.

It probably is the city. Nothing else can disappear from the second level so cleanly, without even leaving a data trail.

[identity profile] surpraizepitaph.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll be expecting to see you when I get to the bottom of this.

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[Nods seriously and stretches.]

Lots of wells so deep can't see the bottom.

[identity profile] notthatkennedy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm.

But why in the hell would the city want to do this to the people that inhabit it, I wonder. Makes no sense.

[identity profile] surpraizepitaph.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't need to see the bottom to calculate how deep it is.

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't know. But it's obvious there's something going on.

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
What if there is no bottom?

[identity profile] notthatkennedy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Looks like we got a lot of work ahead of us.

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes.

[Then, more to herself...]

...so many questions...

[identity profile] surpraizepitaph.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you must decide when to stop calculating before you waste too much time. [And laughs a bit.]

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Shrugs.]

Or you could just jump in and find out.

[identity profile] surpraizepitaph.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
And hope you fly instead of fall?

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It's an option.

[identity profile] surpraizepitaph.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Simply invert your own physics.

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[Grins.]

Anything is possible.

[identity profile] surpraizepitaph.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
When you can open the door, the world is yours to play with.

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Always has been.

[identity profile] surpraizepitaph.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
And always will be.

[identity profile] vodkadrinksyou.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[His pipe's all bloody again, and the slasher smile is back. But it's actually, honestly okay. If you look nearby, you might see Lithuania, who has been dragged along so far. Sometimes physically. Yes.]

An open door. Haha, of course. It's so obvious now. I guess I can stop trying to ask them if they know anything. [He looks a bit relieved too.]

I'm joining you. They took a friend of mine. I'm going to get him back.

[A strange thought here.]

Well, if the building's still in one piece by then.

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[Looks at the pipe and the smile, but nods.]

Okay.

Dunno what's behind the door, though. Could be them, could be something else.

[identity profile] vodkadrinksyou.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Da, that's true.

[Thinks for a second, then smiles in a...normal fashion. No, really.]

But if it's something else, it's probably a very shiny something else. Or they wouldn't be hiding it so much.

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes yes. Very truuue.

[identity profile] vodkadrinksyou.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Shiny things are very important, sometimes. I wonder what it could be....

[Thinks.]

Only one way to find out, da?
