[Edward has obtained one (1) chessboard, complete with chess pieces. She's got them set up, and is sitting behind the white pieces. She's made a move, and just waits. She's very obviously second level, and it's rather clear she's silently inviting anyone who wants to play chess with her.

...but be warned, Edward is one hell of a chess player.]

((OOC: Chess time with Edward! Since I personally am terrible at chess, I propose the following: we pre-determine the winner, and then just hold the conversation or whatever, we don't have to document the moves. Or, if your character doesn't like chess, feel free to suggest another game or just have a conversation!))

Yes yes!

[Rattles off how each of the pieces move and the basics behind check and checkmate, then moves another pawn and smiles up at Sunny.]

[Keywords are relevant. Unfortunately. Moves another pawn!]

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
[LOL it's okay. Ed can go UR DOIN IT WROOONG if she does it wrong. :3 Moving pieces yaaay]

[identity profile] tickingshadows.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Okaaaaay moving pieces then /o/]

...Is that how that moves?

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
[Shakes head a little.]

No no, the bishops only move diagonally. It's the castles that move horizontally and vertically.

[identity profile] tickingshadows.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhhhh okay.

[...Moves pieces correctly! Hopefully. |D]

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Nods nicely and KILLS YOUR BISHOP BWAHAHA]

[identity profile] tickingshadows.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Urk. ... Attempts to repay the favor! Hopefully. Never played chess before and probably failing miserably. |D Lol, strategy.]

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Good job! But Ed's probably starting to massacre you. Not full yet, but it's definitely clear she's got the advantage.]

[identity profile] tickingshadows.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
[...Keeps going! Not giving up, even in the face of all-but-certain failure. |D That's just how we roll.]

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Not so bad for a complete newbie. Ed corrects Sunny's moves occasionally, and massacres her the rest of the time.]

[identity profile] tickingshadows.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, that's generous of her. And...in the end, there is failure. Well, it seems like failure.] Does this mean I lost this game?

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, that's a checkmate.

Good job though, for your first time!

[identity profile] tickingshadows.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. You're pretty good - I take it you've been playin' this for a while?

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Nods.]

Yup! Ed likes it a lot, it's fun.

[identity profile] tickingshadows.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it kinda is, isn't it? Takes a lot of practice, though. [Thoughtfully.] Kinda like swords, in a way...Mind if we play again sometime?

[identity profile] timeforjam.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah it takes a while to get the hang of, and even then some people aren't very good.

[Big smile]

Yes yes! Ed would like that a lot!
