OOC: CHARACTER INFO

Okay so since I'm playing Ed post-series, she's AU. So I'm posting my app here so people can read if they want, and see the slight differences in how I play her and what she's like in the series.

Character Name: Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, aka Radical Edward, aka Radical Ed, aka Edward, aka Ed

Character Series: Cowboy Bebop (slightly AU, as I'm taking her four years after the anime ends)

Character Age: Probably 17. She's never kept track, so she doesn't know for sure. But she's pretty sure she's 17. Or maybe 16. Or maybe 18. She doesn't care.

Background: Not much is known about Radical Edward. When she was younger, she just kind of... showed up at an orphanage when her father dropped her off for day care and never came back. She was always an odd child, and at some point she up and left the orphanage and struck out on her own, making a name for herself as an expert hacker. One day she decided she wanted to get off Earth, so she hacked a bounty hunter info site so that the Bebop crew (Spike, Jet, Faye, and the dog Ein) would think a particular bounty was far more than it actually was and come after it. She pretty much forced herself on them, and they reluctantly included her in their shenanigans. They didn't regret that, by the way, because she really was an expert hacker, and was pretty damn useful.

That was fun for a while, but then they ran into Ed's father one day, and that got her to thinking about how maybe it was time to move on again. So she up and left, Ein following her because she and the dog were pretty much BFFs.

And that's all there is of Ed in the series. But I'm taking her from four years after she left the Bebop. During which time not a whole lot happened for her that was terribly earth-shattering. She spent a lot of time with her father, then went off on her own again to do hacking shenanigans, and actually set herself up as a bounty hunter for a little while, using some of the fighting skills she picked up from her dad and Spike and her natural gymnastic ability coupled with her leet hacker skills to apprehend the bounties. It always amazes criminals when they get beat up by a 17 year old girl, let me tell you.

Personality: Edward is... a strange child. During her time on the Bebop, she would almost always speak in third person. She's grown beyond that, somewhat, but still does it more than is really comfortable for normal people. She speaks childishly, often in rhymes and riddles, and sometimes songs. She's always been extremely acrobatic, cartwheeling, somersaulting, and skipping. She very rarely walks anywhere, and if she does, she walks with big strides, arms swinging.

She's cheerful, friendly, and very happy almost all the time. She's more curious than a cat, and tends to approach things almost like she is a cat, or some other kind of animal. If she likes you, you're her friend forever, but if she gets a bad feeling from you, she'll snarl and bite your ear.

Of course, as she's grown up she's grown out of some of this behavior. But only enough so that she can function in society without raising too many eyebrows. For the most part, she still acts on the whims that jump into her head, but she's got some sense of a filter now. Like I mentioned, she talks normally at least part of the time, and although she does make snap judgments based on instinct, she at least doesn't snarl right away. Nor does she bite people on the ear anymore.

Ed has learned to take care of herself, and isn't quite as innocent as she used to be. She's old enough now that people notice her, and while she's discovered that sometimes she likes the attention, she also realizes that a lot of the time it's coming from unwanted quarters. So while Ed would prefer to avoid beating the crap out of people, she's learned to be able to, in case the unwanted attention gets to be more than just attention.

But she's still rather wild, and, for lack of a better adjective, kind of insane. In a cute and lovable way. She goes around barefoot as much as possible, is still curious and playful like a kitten, and is more likely than not to act on a whim as soon as it pops into her head. She's just grown up a little, too.

Abilities: Ed doesn't have any supernatural abilities. She's an expert hacker, which is useless in a place without computers. She's also pretty good at gymnastics (self-taught) and a sort of fighting style that's a weird combo of her own gymnastics and what she picked up from Spike and her dad. She's a lover, not a fighter, though, and is more apt to back down from a fight than pick one. Also she's pretty handy with hardware, and likes tinkering with machines and equipment. She's been known to take something apart and put it back together again in a completely different way to make something entirely new.

AU info: After she left the Bebop, Ed first went off to find her father, Appledelhi Siniz Hesap Lütfen, who was a cartographer on Earth, which is a kind of silly occupation, since the landscape of the planet was constantly changing due to daily asteroid impacts. In any case, Ed reunited with him, and spent a year and a half basically running around with him, charting the changes asteroid impacts created, and generally having a good time. He taught her all sorts of random things, like cartography, and mechanics, and self-defense.

Then Ed got bored, and wandered off again. For half a year she just kind of wandered around and hacked the bejesus out of random things for kicks and giggles, then got nostalgic for the Bebop. So she decided to try her hand at bounty hunting.

She wasn't very good at it, at first. None of the bounties took her seriously, and she didn't really take them seriously, so when she would try to apprehend them, they usually just walked away while she got distracted by something shiny. In an astonishing moment of clarity, which happened to Ed every now and then, she realized that her methods weren't working and decided to change tactics.

First she started spending more time among actual people, instead of milling about by herself, and started learning how people normally acted. She thought it was all very silly, how normal people acted, but saw some use in it anyway, so she learned what it would mean to pass as a normal person (walking normally, talking normally, dressing normally, acting normally), and promptly dismissed it as boring.

She did learn to take some things a little more seriously, though, since not being able to catch a bounty meant not getting any money, which meant having a harder time getting food. So she began to take herself a little more seriously (sometimes), and began to catch some low-level bounties.

Extremely pleased with her success, Ed kept at it, going after bounties on Earth using a combination of her hacking and actually going after them in person. She actually began to make something of a name for herself, as "that insane bounty hunter kid who also can hack the bejesus out of pretty much anything."

She never really got very good at bounty hunting, but she had fun, and made enough money to survive, and that was really what was important to her.

So for her personality, if I didn't make that clear, what essentially happened was that Ed picked up some social cues and then dismissed them as boring, while still maintaining a few of them occasionally (if that makes any sense), and learned to get serious about things that needed seriousness.
